The Complex Performing and Creative Arts Centre is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and student-centered Music Teacher to join our growing faculty for the 2026–2027 season. At The Complex, we are more than a studio—we are a creative home. Our programs span dance, theatre, music, and visual arts and we are deeply committed to nurturing the whole artist. We are looking for a music educator who shares that vision and is excited to contribute to a vibrant, collaborative arts community.

Position Overview
The Music Teacher will provide high-quality, engaging instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels through private lessons and/or small group classes. Instruction may include (but is not limited to):

Piano
-
Voice
-
Guitar
-
Beginner instrumental instruction (optional based on expertise)
Responsibilities
-
Teach weekly private and/or group music lessons

Develop lesson plans tailored to individual student goals and learning styles
-
Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment

Support student growth in both technical skill and artistic expression

Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
-
Participate in optional performance opportunities (recitals, showcases, interdisciplinary productions)
Qualifications
-
Experience teaching voice/music to children and/or young adults
-
Strong background in one or more musical disciplines

Ability to work with a range of ages and experience levels

Passion for arts education and student development

Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Collaborative spirit and willingness to be part of a creative team
Schedule & Compensation

Weekday afternoons/evenings and/or Saturdays

Competitive hourly rate based on experience
