VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are in need of 10 parent volunteers for our upcoming production of The SpongeBob Musical! Parent volunteers will be helping backstage with kid control as well as movement of children back and forth from The Complex to The Bradley before, during, and after each performance. If you are able to help, please send us an email or see Sarah at the front desk!

In addition, volunteers are also needed through The Bradley for jobs like ushering, ticket taking, and concessions. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these jobs, you can sign up here: https://www.thebradleyplayhouse.org/volunteer/

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES

The SpongeBob Musical

The Complex Performing and Creative Arts Centre will present SpongeBob the musical on March 17, 18, 19 at The Bradley Playhouse in Putnam.  ALL of our THEATRE STUDENTS and LEVEL 6 DANCERS are in the Ensemble!!  This production is an exciting collaboration between students, faculty, guest actors and community members - it is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share the stage with professional and seasoned performers.

Ensemble work will be learned and worked on in student’s regularly scheduled theatre classes over these next few months. Please note that ensemble members will be asked to attend rehearsals outside of class time as the show gets closer. Tech rehearsals are mandatory and will be taking place during the weeks of March 5th & March 12. An ensemble rehearsal and tech schedule will be sent out soon.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW. Please visit the Bradley Playhouse’s website to purchase! https://www.thebradleyplayhouse.org/

REMINDERS

  • Reminder of withdrawal policy: At the time of registration we outline The Complex Performing and Creative Arts Centre’s withdrawal policy.  To be accepted into our program, all families agree to the terms of the contract.  We feel it is very important to be upfront and transparent.  Our policy states that a formal written one month notice must be submitted.  The student may still participate in class in their outgoing month.  The policy goes on to state that after January 1, 2023 we do not accept any further withdrawals and the full remainder of tuition is still due.

  • DRESS CODE! Please refer to your Welcome Newsletter for your students' dress code for class. ALL CLASSES, including theatre, have a specific dress code for all students. If you have questions about dress code, please reach out!

  • We ask that all students please arrive at least 5 minutes before their class is scheduled to begin. If your student needs to change clothes before class, we would suggest you  arrive up to 15 minutes early as there can sometimes be a line for the bathrooms (we have 2 bathrooms located in the lobby and upstairs for student use). We understand that life happens, but on a regular basis, we want to ensure that students have enough time to settle in and switch their headspace to get ready for class!

  • Please remember to pack water for your kiddos! Whether your kiddo is dancing hard or using their voice in theatre or music, a sip of water during class can really help!

GET EXCITED - End-of-Year Performances

It’s hard to believe it but it is time to start planning our Spring Performances!  This year all Dance and Theatre Students will perform in “Journey through the Jukebox” on June 17 at The Loos Center for the Arts in Woodstock, CT. This show will take audiences on a journey through the Great White Way - BROADWAY!  Dance students Performance Package Fee was due in January, Theatre Students Performance Package fee will be due April 1 (students in dance and theatre only pay one fee).  The performance Package Fee ($100)  includes 2 tickets to our Performance  at The Loos Center, costume/accessory/prop rental, a performance t-shirt, and access to the recorded performance after completion.   Additional tickets may be purchased for $20 each.  The Performance Fee aids in the rental of venue, allows us to keep ticket prices low, and ensures there are no extra or surprising out-of-pocket fees for costuming, materials, rehearsals, etc.  If you would like to discuss your child’s upcoming performance or performance fee please see Nichola.  In addition to the performance, our Art Students will have their very own gallery show in the Loos Gallery one hour prior to the performance.  We are very excited for our students to have this opportunity to show their work.
